Ombrelo is a company founded by Nina von Schantz that provides a variety of therapy services in South Ostrobothnia, Ostrobothnia, Central Ostrobothnia, and Satakunta. At Ombrelo, the focus is on working together with the client to solve everyday challenges through concrete, practical goals. As a rapidly growing company, Ombrelo especially needs new speech therapists. At Ombrelo, you can influence both your workload and your work location. On top of that, you get the support of a work community, an employer that encourages professional development, and the freedom to work with the kinds of challenges that interest you the most.

Ombrelo’s work community is worth its weight in gold

Licensed speech therapist Roosa-Maria Veteläinen came from Oulu to Vaasa in 2017 for a summer job at Ombrelo and ended up staying. Now, however, it’s time for her to move back closer to friends and family.

“I’ve grown into an Ombrelo professional. When it was time to move back north, looking for a new job felt challenging. The idea of Ombrelo expanding further north actually started from my wish to remain part of Ombrelo. After thinking it through, I suggested to Nina that we expand into a new city, and fortunately she agreed. Now, in autumn 2021, our operations are expanding to Raahe,” Veteläinen says.

Flexibility at Ombrelo is something you genuinely experience in practice, not just hear in words. At Ombrelo, you can also make use of the company’s shared premises, tools, and administrative services. The company also encourages further training and developing your own professional skills.

“In my opinion, the best thing about Ombrelo is the encouraging work community. It’s also important to me that the company invests in the quality of client work and emphasizes quality over quantity. In my position, I’m able to influence my own workload and adjust it flexibly. This way I can take care of my wellbeing at work and my endurance. On top of all this, I have access to a wide range of materials and effective working tools,” Veteläinen says.

An entrepreneur is also part of the work community

Licensed speech therapist Päivi Hautamäki started as an Ombrelo entrepreneur in 2015 after first working at Ombrelo as an employee. At Ombrelo, a speech therapist can, if they wish, grow into an entrepreneur while still employed.

“I had been interested in entrepreneurship for a long time, but taking the first step was scary. What was great about Ombrelo is that I received support and information about entrepreneurship, specifically in the field of speech therapy. Even though my role changed from employee to entrepreneur, I’m still part of the work community,” Hautamäki explains.

While working at Ombrelo, you can take part in the business incubator’s activities, which consist of short trainings and individual consultations. The incubator continues to support the employee even after they have become an entrepreneur. Participating in the incubator does not obligate you to start a company.
