Children with unclear speech production or challenges in their language skills (e.g., developmental language disorder, dyspraxia, difficulties with naming, word-finding, and narrative skills)
(also Kela’s demanding medical rehabilitation)
Education:
Basic vocational education
Master of Arts, Speech-Language Pathology program
Bachelor of Education, Preschool Teacher
Further professional training
Unclear speech and speech motor disorders (including PROMPT 1, OPT 1, myofunctional approaches, observation, assessment, and rehabilitation of unclear speech)
Rehabilitation of naming and word-finding difficulties
Supporting narrative skills
Augmentative and alternative communication (including key word signing, Talking Mats, “Spark” picture communication methods)
Experience:
Rehabilitation and assessment, including intensive medical rehabilitation. Work experience in the private sector and in specialized medical care.
Additional information:
I consider it important to make use of the client’s strengths and interests in speech therapy. Commitment to speech therapy and close collaboration with the child’s key caregivers (parents, daycare/school) are also of primary importance to best support the child’s everyday functioning.
