Neuropsychiatric coaching
Neuropsychiatric coaching is a method that focuses on practicing life management and everyday skills, as well as interpersonal abilities. The approach is therapeutic, preventative, and aims to improve the client's quality of life. Neuropsychiatric coaching is carried out by a social or healthcare professional, or an education/teaching professional, who has completed specialized training as a neuropsychiatric coach.
Neuropsychiatric coaching is suitable for people of all ages who experience challenges or have characteristics such as ADHD/ADD, Asperger's syndrome, autism spectrum disorders, Tourette's syndrome, specific language impairments, and learning difficulties.
Through neuropsychiatric coaching, individuals are empowered to strengthen their resources, skills, and the ability to learn new things. It enhances everyday life management skills. The process helps clients find solutions, options, and tools for dealing with problems and facing challenges. It supports independence and participation.
This method offers flexible ways to develop the client's skills, for example, skills related to executive functioning, social skills, and building self-esteem.
The goals and schedule for neuropsychiatric coaching are agreed upon together with the client (and their family), and the methods are tailored individually based on the client's objectives and needs. The coach's role is to support, encourage, and enable the client to learn, adopt, and discover new ways, resources, strategies, and approaches for managing everyday situations.
The goals are concrete and relate to the difficulties of everyday life, such as managing daily tasks, studying, or relationships.
