Speech therapy
Speech therapy is a form of rehabilitation that is goal-oriented and always based on an assessment and a plan made by a speech therapist. Speech therapy is provided by healthcare professionals who are qualified and licensed speech and language therapists.
Speech therapy supports children, young people and adults when speech, language or communication create challenges in everyday life. The goal of speech therapy is to make daily life easier and to strengthen skills that support participation and interaction.
At Ombrelo, speech therapy is always individualised and progresses calmly in close cooperation with the client and their loved ones.
Speech therapy can be helpful, for example, when:
- speech or language development raises concerns
- communication is unclear or challenging
- a child has difficulty being understood
- voice use, comprehension or language-based learning presents challenges
Speech therapy provides space to pause, understand the situation and find concrete ways forward.
At Ombrelo, speech therapy focuses on what is meaningful in the client’s everyday life. Clear goals are set in therapy, and progress is made in a structured way, at the client’s own pace.
What is important to us:
- a calm and safe atmosphere
- a genuinely individual approach
- understanding why and in which direction therapy is progressing
The aim of speech therapy is that the skills learned will also carry over beyond therapy sessions and into everyday life.
Speech therapy is provided in an environment that suits the client’s daily life, for example at home, in daycare, at school or at a clinic.
We offer speech therapy in several locations, including Seinäjoki, Raahe, Kokkola, Pietarsaari, Vaasa, Pori and Rauma.
